Dental implants in Bishops Waltham

A dental implant is the closest thing dentistry has to a natural tooth. It looks like a tooth, functions like a tooth, and crucially feels like a tooth. Whether you're missing one tooth, several, or a full arch, every option is planned around your mouth and your long-term dental health.

Choose the right implant option

Not sure which fits? Your consultation includes an honest suitability assessment. If a different treatment is right for you, we'll say so.

Wearing a denture that moves? We can attach it to implants to make it far more stable.

Implant quality

Not all implants are equal

Two implants can look identical in the box and be very different under a microscope. The implant is the part that stays in your jaw for decades, so we are careful about which ones we use and how we prepare them.

  • Plasma-activated before placement

A titanium surface picks up a thin film of airborne hydrocarbons while an implant sits in its packaging. Just before placement, we treat each implant in a plasma chamber, which cleans that film away and leaves a surface that attracts blood and water. Research suggests this can help bone attach to the implant in the early weeks of healing.

  • A surface designed for bone

Modern implants are not smooth. Their surfaces are roughened and treated at a microscopic level to give bone more to grip. How well that is done varies between manufacturers, which is why we use established implant systems with long-term clinical records.

  • Independently tested for cleanliness

The CleanImplant Foundation is an independent, non-profit organisation that examines implants straight from their sterile packaging under a scanning electron microscope, looking for residues left over from manufacturing. Implant systems that pass, and that have a clinical survival rate of at least 95% over several years, earn its Trusted Quality seal. The implants we use carry it.

Well, I had to have an implant. I lost my front tooth while I was on holiday, which is an awful experience. I couldn't speak properly, I couldn't eat properly and I couldn't smile at anybody. Obviously, the first thing I did was came to see the doctors at Clear Dentistry. They talked through with me my options of having a denture, having a bridge or having an implant. I was able to make an informed choice of what I could afford and what was best for me. They then put a sort of a program written out so that I would see how many times I would have to come, what the treatment was going to be. So, it was good to be able to understand the whole process of having an implant. I was never in any pain at all. I said quite a few people, can you tell which tooth is the implant? And nobody can tell. Even my friend who's a dental nurse couldn't tell which tooth was the implanted one. I can't imagine finding a better dental practice anywhere else. You know, if I had to move to another county, I'd probably make the trip back.

Well, I've been coming to Clear Dentistry about six years. It's such an easy process when you come here. After one or two visits, all those fears and anxieties go. A welcoming star, you're not kept waiting too long before you go in. A full explanation is given before and then in proceeds very professionally and does a splendid job really. Many people are nervous about going to the dentist. The dentist understands what you're going through. He works so sensitively and so carefully. You hardly feel anything is going on really and I've had some quite big stuff done with implants and things like that and it really has made a difference to my life.

The thing that I like about the dentist here, they make you feel at ease. Not to worry about things, explain things to you properly so you know exactly what your treatment is. People to point out exactly what you need doing and the reason why you need doing it so that you can actually see it for yourself. I think that's really interesting when they show you everything on a screen so that you can see it larger than life. The last treatment I had was an implant and the bone graft and the gum graft took a long time in the chair but they kept asking me how did I feel? Was I okay? They don't even try and steer you towards doing something you don't want to do, give you options and choices. I know I just think they're amazing.

They've had two implants and a bridge done by Chris, Chris Leach, and thus the major work and then obviously just the normal kind of check-ups and the like. I think they're professional, which starts with the overall service and one of the good things I think is the fact that if you've got an appointment at 10 o'clock then you get seen while the dentist or hygiene is at 10 o'clock. They show you the pictures of inside your mouth so you can actually get a visual image of what's going on, whether it be photographic, x-ray, you know you get a clear idea of what they're going to be doing. Both the dentists are seeing very good explaining what's going on, what they're going to do, offering you the different choices and the like. I found them to be really modern, professional, and friendly as well, which is important. I would recommend them. I think they're highly professional, I think they're probably the best dentist I've ever been to.

Common questions

Am I suitable for implants?

Your consultation includes a 3D CBCT scan and an honest suitability assessment. If a different treatment is the right call for you, we will say so. The goal is the correct result for you, not the largest treatment plan.

I'm nervous. Can I be sedated?

Yes. Our in-house consultant anaesthetist can sedate you safely and comfortably, so you'll have little to no memory of the procedure and no awareness of how long it takes. It's a popular choice with patients who want treatment to be as comfortable as possible.

How much do implants cost?

A single dental implant starts from £1,799.95. Full arch treatment is priced after your assessment, because the plan depends on your bone, the number of implants and the type of prosthesis. Everyone's mouth is different, so you'll always have a personalised written quote before any treatment begins.

How do I look after my implants?

Done properly, an implant can last for many years. That depends on good home care, regular check-ups and factors like whether you grind your teeth, all of which we plan around from the start. Our hygiene team looks after your gums and implants with regular maintenance visits to keep them healthy.
